Summer Sunday 9:15ers

The church does not shut down during the summer! In addition to the Summer Fellowship Time between worship services, there are a number of special presentations and events at 9:15am. Speakers are noted under the headline and all events are in the Chapel unless otherwise noted.

August Schedule

Sunday, August 5th: FAITH5 (Faith Acts In The Home) Youth Ed Committee

FAITH5 is a simple, easy-to-implement faith practice to grow in faith with others (especially family). Come and learn how to use this faith practice. The Youth Education Committee is encouraging every family with Sunday School age children to attend one FAITH5 9:15er this summer.

Sunday, August 12th: Mission Moments: Southern Africa Education Fund

Paige de Kock, Executive Director of SAEF, will be with us to share about this important ministry.

Through your tithes and offerings you are making life different for school children in Aussenkehr, Namibia (in the middle of the Namib Desert) by providing water for them at school. The goals of SAEF are to:

  • Increase number of available classrooms
  • Increase available teacher housing
  • Construct playground and soccer field on school grounds
  • Provide school kits for children whose families cannot afford backpacks, uniforms, shoes, and school supplies.

Sunday, August 19th: Mission Moments: Highlights of the Mission Trip to Pine Ridge Indian Reservation

Mission Trip Participants

Nine members of Trinity’s faith community participated in a mission trip to Pine Ridge Indian Reservation through Re- Member Organization. They will share their experiences with us through story and pictures. Participants were: Peggy Brooks, Diane Foote, Judith Halasi, Woody McDougall, Beth Soltis, Judy Trinkner, Anita Wilke, Jeff Barton, and Marilyn Van Roekel. Come, see, and hear about your mission dollars at work.

Sunday, August 26th: Young Adults in Global Mission Jerusalem

Katharine Jones – Chapel

The ELCA Young Adults in Global Mission program invites ELCA young adults ages 21-29 into a transformative, year-long journey in international service. As they offer themselves in service, ELCA young adults are shaped by the witness of our global neighbors. They share in the journeys of companion churches and organizations in one of nine countries around the world. We helped sponsor our own Katharine Jones for a year of service in Jerusalem and she will share her experiences with us
