Senior Pastor

Pastor Mark Twietmeyer

Pastor Mark was called to Trinity as Sr. Pastor in the Fall of 1992. A 1978 graduate of Concordia Seminary in Exile (Seminex), Pastor Mark moved here from Chicago where he served two different congregations: Edison Park Lutheran, Chicago, '78-'84; and Redeemer's Lutheran Church, Oak Forrest, '84-'92. Pastor Mark is married to Lynn who is a school teacher and they have three children.

Pastor Mark says the following about Trinity.

"Trinity is a marvelous community of people who have been called and gathered here by the Holy Spirit to be a mission outpost in a troubled world. We are not perfect by any means, but we work hard to honor God who has graciously called us to be partners in this ministry. We are a diverse group of people who are in continual conversation about what it means to be a disciple of Jesus. We are centered in the Word of God around the Table of the Lord. Everyone who comes to Trinity is welcome. Everyone who walks through the door is here to receive and participate in the grace of God, and together we work to figure out what it means to be a disciple."

Visitation Pastor

Pastor Gene Brueggemann

My calling is to serve Trinity in its program of senior ministries, with special emphasis on visitation of those who are unable to worship regularly with the congregation. I began this ministry in January, 2006 on a part-time basis, having retired from full-time pastoral ministry in 1991. I graduated from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, in 1950, and served as both parish pastor and campus pastor until retirement, when I served part-time at a congregation in Fort Collins. I have an Masters in Divinity degree in a combined program from Northwestern University and Garrett Seminary.

Lorraine and I were married in 1951 and we have five children, three in California, one in Forest Park, Ill., and one in Trinity (Priscilla Murphy), and two Murphy grandchildren.

"Trinity is an outstanding congregation centered on Word and Sacrament. Our pastor is the one most responsible for doing that, and he inspires and coordinates the service of the various members of the Body of Christ in this place so that the mission of this church gets done. It means more than I can say to be part of Trinity and to play an assistant-to-the-pastor role in this mission and ministry."

Director of Youth Ministries

Becca Sager

Has worked at Trinity for since Fall, 2006.

Graduated from the University of Mary Washington in 2005; certified in youth and family ministries from the Youth and Family Institute and the Center for Youth Ministries of Wartburg Theological Seminary in the fall of 2006.

Directs the planning, scheduling, and implementation of Trinity Lutheran Church's Youth Ministries and Programs.

Becca was born and raised in Virginia and says "y'all" frequently. She is learning to play guitar and enjoys being in the great outdoors whenever possible.

"Being so far away from home, Trinity is a place of support and a source of laughter and love!"

Office Manager

Melanie Nehls Burow

Melanie has an Master of Arts from the University of Chicago in Social Service Administration with over 14 years experience working with nonprofits.

Member of Trinity since spring 2001 and Administrator since July 2004.

Melanie is the Office Administrator at Trinity. She manages the church calendar and events, production of church publications, the church's technology and equipment, and communications to the membership. She is the person who makes sure things get done and considers herself a "Jane-of-all-trades".

Melanie is married to Andrew Burow and they reside in Boulder. When not at Trinity working, Melanie is at Trinity volunteering with the Middle School youth group. She also sings in 2-3 other singing groups in the area, and runs fundraising events for some of these groups. Melanie is a Master Composter and teaches composting classes in the area each spring and fall. She is an avid traveler and is always trying to find time to see more of the world.

"Trinity is special because it is a church that practices what it preaches. People are engaged in ministry all week long, not just on Sunday mornings. It is the most vibrant, active and healthy church I have ever been a part of."

Caring & Healing Ministries

Pat Grady

My husband and I joined Trinity in 2003 when we moved to the Boulder area. I have been a part of the staff at Trinity since Spring, 2004.

I am a registered nurse with a degree from Georgia State University in Atlanta; a certified case manager and commissioned parish nurse.

As Coordinator of Caring and Healing Ministries, I am responsible for identifying pastoral care needs, coordinating appropriate interventions and follow-up.

"Trinity is the most welcoming, caring community that I have ever been involved in. Everyone is engaged and supportive of one another."

Coordinator of Music Ministries

Valerie Hess

I have been at Trinity since September 1996.

I have a Masters in Music in church music and organ from Valparaiso University.

As Coordinator of Music Ministries, I oversee the active music program at Trinity. I also lead the Worship Team and the Trinity Consort (early music group). I choose the hymns and consult with the choir directors and pastors about music and liturgies for our varied services.

In addition to my musical work, I am a published author: "Habits of a Child's Heart: Raising Your Kids with the Spiritual Disciplines" came out in 2004. "Spiritual Disciplines: A Year of Readings" comes out in June of 2007.

"The thing that is the most special to me about worship and music at Trinity is that we do it so well in a wide variety of styles. We have high standards for all aspects of worship from the liturgy for the season to the choir anthems and visual arts that support the lessons and themes for each service. I also like that places are made for everyone who desires to offer a musical or artistic gift in worship."

Handbell Choir Director

Anne Miller

Growing up as a chorister in the Lutheran school system, in several community choirs as an adult, and as a piano teacher with a studio of 20 students, I found handbells to be a particularly exciting 'team sport' that really caught my interest in the late 70's. I began studying with college educators and composers in the 80's, and by 1987 was asked to become one of the few paid handbell staff in the nation by a Lutheran Church in St. Louis, MO.

History holds that I am past Missouri state chair of the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers (AGEHR), past AGEHR Area VIII Secretary, formerly an 18-year AGEHR Missouri state board member, graduate of the AGEHR Master class in "Score Study-Preparation and Conducting," AGEHR mentor, handbell choir director at various churches for 18 yrs., co-founder of the Gateway BellFest, adjudicator, clinician, author, composer, soloist, and accompanist. Now in Colorado to be an active 'granny', ringing with the Rocky Mountain Ringers, and formerly with 'Bells In Motion', I am the current chair elect for the Colorado chapter of the AGEHR.

In 2005, after serving five bell choirs at Webster Groves Presbyterian for 12 yrs. and moving to Colorado to be close to family, I am now the director of the handbell ministry at Trinity since the fall of 2007; teaching people that have rhythm how to use this percussion instrument, along with handchimes & other percussive instruments to lead worship and praise their Lord.

I work as an Office Administrator, enjoy jazz, live theater, outdoor activities, and am thankful to be a part of such a vibrant ministry at Trinity.
