Where does your money go?
For many people, donating tithes and offerings to a church can be a leap of faith.  Where does your money go?  At Trinity, 10% of everything donated is given back out to the community through our Benvolence.  In addition, we categorize our Ministry Spending Plan into these five categories: Faith Formation, Worship, Pastoral Care, Missions, and Outreach.  We feel that this more truly tells the story of the mission and ministry work that happens through and as a part of Trinity.  Click on the 2016 Ministry Spending Plan to see a chart on how our dollars will be directed.

Is my donation tax deductible?
Trinity is a 501c(3) organization which means gifts to it are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.  Trinity will acknowledge your gift in the form of a letter and/or quarterly and yearly statement.  These documents will serve as you tax deductible receipt.

Online Giving
Online giving is available on your phone or computer. You can donate using your credit card, debit card or an electronic funds transfer.  This can be scheduled as a recurring gift or give one-time.  You can then login anytime to view past online gifts or change recurring online gifts.  Trinity uses Vanco Services for this service, both recommended by the ELCA and Thrivent Financial.

Online Giving and Credit Cards
The decision to accept credit card donations was not made lightly at Trinity, but more as a convenience to our church family who is not always able to be here to drop off their tithes and offerings.  Trinity asks that before you give via online giving, prayerfully consider the wisdom in using a credit card. For some of us, the use of credit is something that we struggle with and, at times, has wreaked havoc on our finances. Trinity strongly believes that a credit card should not be used unless you intend to pay off your balance in full each month. Finally, when giving via credit card, please ensure that the amount of a credit card charge for your tithes and offerings has been well thought out and is a part of your spending plan/budget.
Also please note that the amount Trinity receives from credit card/debit card transactions will be approximately 3% lower than the gift amount specified due to our online processing fees. You are given the option to add an an extra 3% onto your gift to help cover this expense.  And there is not this 3% cost when using the electronic funds transfer option (when you give online), your bank’s online bill pay option or a personal check/cash.

Other Ways to Give
Sunday Services-offering is collected during each worship service.  Be sure to include your name and address on the check or envelope (if giving cash), so that donation credit may be provided for tax purposes.  Envelopes are available in the pews if you forgot your offering envelope.

Bank Bill Pay-Most banks have free online bill pay. Login to your individual bank account and follow your bank’s instructions to set up Trinity Lutheran Church as a new payee.
