“It isn’t the size of the gift that matters, but the size of the heart that gives it.”
-Eileen Elias Freeman
To some $5,500 may not sound like a lot of money, but 36 organizations applied to
receive part of that total for the 2012 Trinity Youth Community Fund.  The requests
from all 36 organization totaled $77,815.

No matter whether the amount of money seems like a lot or a little, there is no
denying that the youth deciding on which organizations receive the money have big
hearts.  Making this decision is not an easy task as the organizations who applied
are doing much needed work in our community.

On Sunday, May 6th, the youth will award a total of $6,939 amongst four Denver-
Metro non-profits from the Trinity Youth Community Fund.  Here are the 2012 TYCF
awardees:

Bridgeway strives “to build new lives for pregnant and parenting teens”.  They do
this by assisting mothers and babies in becoming physically and emotionally
healthy, as well as teaching self-sufficiency skills to the mothers.
Trinity’s Youth granted Bridgeway $2,000 to support their programming, which
accounts for 88% of their budget.

Providers’ Resource Clearinghouse “supports Colorado’s community-based
organizations and the people they serve with in-kind resources while creating a safe
and stable work...environment for individuals with mental illnesses within Providers’
Resource Clearinghouse.”
Trinity’s Youth granted Providers’ Resource Clearinghouse $493 to help start up a
weekend program for youth in need of completing court-ordered community service.

The Urban Servant Corps is a “one-year, full time Lutheran volunteer program that
embraces the tenets of intentional community, service, simplicity and spirituality”.
The volunteers in the program serve as human services providers in Denver non-
profits for a year.
Trinity’s Youth are granting the Urban Servant Corps $2,500 to help with the
upkeep of the 100+ year old houses in which the volunteers live.

We Don’t Waste is focused in “supporting agencies, which feed thousands of under
served...populations in the metro Denver area by recovering nutritious leftover
restaurant grade food, which would otherwise be discarded by caterers,
restaurants, venues and other...food sources”.
Trinity’s Youth are granting We Don’t Waste $2,000 for operating expenses and the
expansion of their marketing throughout the metro area.

“Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.  Each of you should use
whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace
in its various forms.”
