Souper Bowl of Caring
Sunday, February 7th
On Sunday, February 7th our High School Youth (LOFT) will be collecting food and non-food items for Emergency Family Assistance Association (EFAA). We are asking for your support so EFFA can continue to help those in need. The items we will be collecting are: breakfast cereal, canned chili, pasta, peanut butter and shampoo. EFAA has served low-income residents of Boulder County since 1918. Some of their services include: food, emergency shelter, gas, bus fare, car repair, funds for medical needs, rent/utility payments, household furniture, casework services and tutoring for youth in their programs. Note: LOFT will donate $500 to EFFA (money made from CU parking) in addition to the items collected. |
Lent at Trinity
Ash Wednesday - February 17th, 2010
Services at 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Imposition of Ashes and Holy Communion
Wednesday Lenten Services:
On Ash Wednesday we will begin our journey to Jerusalem by receiving a cross of ashes on our foreheads. At some point in the day, maybe even as late as our pre-bedtime ritual, we will wash the cross smudge from our foreheads. But even though we remove the cross of ashes, the cross remains, for in our Lenten discipline, we promise to take up our cross and follow Jesus. We promise to be "CROSS PURPOSED."
Join us for our Wednesday services at 7:00 p.m. on February 24th, March 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th to learn more about what it means to be Cross Purposed.
Prior to the services, there will be a soup supper in the fellowship hall.
Lenten Small Group Bible Studies:
During Lent the Adult Ed COmmittee is sponsoring a Lenten Small Group Bible Study. The Lenten study is one more resource to help us get to the base of the cross of Good Friday and the open tomb of Easter morning. Each participant may need to purchase a study book which will be in the $6-$8 range.
Sign-up has begun, forms are available in the narthex and due by February 14th. The study will be composed of up to 7-8 people and will be led by one of the members of the group. You can gather your own group, or ask to be placed into a group. Groups will meet once a week, and once formed, will determine the meeting time and day of the week. Besides participants, we will need study leaders / facilitators and hosts.
